Acer palmatum dissectum Garnet
One of the prettiest red leaved Acers with dissected foliage. Its leaves are deeply cut, hence its name.
Brilliant vibrant red-laced foliage sprouts in early spring turning to crimson red in early summer and deep burgundy in late summer, finishing up with vivid reddish-purple in the autumn.
This deciduous Acer is very slow growing. Great planted alongside a pond or in a decorative planter.

How to take care of Dissectum Garnet
Water well upon receipt of the Dissectum Garnet. Require a neutral to acidic soil. Plant Dissectum Garnetin light shady sheltered location as it needs protection from cold winds and hot morning sun, which damage the leaves.
Best position is somewhere you can see the sun shining through the leaves.
Prepare planting site with 50% potting compost and 50% top soil, plant Dissectum Garnetso that the root ball is just below the surface and water well for the next few weeks.
Apply a top dressing of organic fertiliser during early spring but not at the time of planting wait for about 6 weeks before applying fertiliser for the first time.
Give the young trees support by means of a cane.
Never let the roots dry out. Pruning is not necessary but you can cut out dead wood in spring.
