How to take care of Rosea Mix Hollyhocks

Rosea Mix Hollyhocks is hardy and suitable for a sunny sheltered spot. Because of their height, Rosea Mix Hollyhocks they are best planted at the back of the border. Stake the plants for support on exposed and windy sites.

For better results it is best to mix the soil with some organic matter in spring. Rosea Mix Hollyhocks are prone to a fungal disease known as rust, spray with an general anti fungicide during early summer.

For their first year Rosea Mix Hollyhocks will bear leaves only. If planted early in the year they may bloom the same year, but planted midyear Rosea Mix Hollyhocks will bloom the following summer. In cold area Rosea Mix Hollyhocks will benefit from a mulch to protect from winter frosts.

Water well during dry spells. In autumn give Rosea Mix Hollyhocks a good trim back to 15cm (6in) from the ground. Remove faded flower heads to prolong the flowering season. To encourage self-sown seedlings for the following season, allow some blossoms on the stalks to form seed pods.
