Anemone Sylvestris is also known as the snowdrop anemone, it gets its common name from the way the flower buds emerge on bent stems, so they hang like snowdrops. When the petals catch the breeze, it makes them look a little like flying butterflies. Due to the underground running rhizomes this plant is suitable for a groundcover for partially shaded areas. Producing glistening white, fragrant blooms in spring which are useful for cutting.

How to take care of Anemone Sylvestris 9cm
Plant Anemone Sylvestris 9cm in any well-drained garden soil. Avoid wet, poorly-drained soils, particularly in winter. Combine the topsoil with a mixture of compost, sand and loam for best results. Best planted in partial shade location just below the soil level. Flowering stems tend to flop in too much shade. Anemone Sylvestris 9cm prefers sheltered locations with protection from wind. Foliage tends to burn in hot, dry, sunny summer conditions. Soils must not be allowed to dry out. Once established apply a light fertiliser during the growth period (March - August). Anemone Sylvestris 9cm are slow to establish and hardiness can be a problem in harsh winters. Plants may not survive wet overwintering conditions unless good drainage is provided. Mulch them lightly in early winter for added protection. The clumps can be divided in spring if necessary but Anemone Sylvestris 9cm do not like to be disturbed.
Allow this spreader plenty of room, or plan to edge each spring to keep the patch to a reasonable size.
