BE CAREFUL HANDLING Berberis thunbergii Dart's Red Lady AS IT HAS SHARP THORNS! For best results soak the roots for approx. 2 hrs. before planting and water well after planting and for the next few weeks. Berberis thunbergii Dart's Red Lady grows in almost any soil except waterlogged soil. Place in a sunny position as it will encourage fruiting and spectacular autumn colour although it will tolerate partial shade. This slow-growing shrub can take years to reach its full height. For hedging plant 4 shrubs per meter, this will create an dense impermeable hedge.
