How to take care of Summer Sorbet
For best results soak the roots for approx. 2 hrs. before planting and water well after planting and for the next few weeks. Plant Summer Sorbet in a sunny sheltered spot if possible in well-drained rich soil but Summer Sorbet will do well in any reasonable soil.
Summer Sorbetwill tolerate partial shade.
Late winter or in spring cut the previous year’s growth back hard to young healthy buds and cut weak stems down to ground level. Flowering is unaffected by spring pruning because plants bloom on new growth.
Take care that crowns do not rot in wet, poorly-drained soils. Summer Sorbet tolerates some drought once established. Summer Sorbet is intolerant of wet, poorly-drained soils.
Generally disease free.
Apply a general organic fertilizer during the active growing season. Summer Sorbet are not heavy feeders but they will benefit from some organic matter in the planting hole at planting time. Too much fertilizer will result in a leafy plant with less blooms.
