How to take care of Delphinium Summer Skies
Plant Delphinium Summer Skies in a sunny to semi shady, sheltered location. Delphinium Summer Skies are heavy feeders and thrive in rich soils. Water well after planting and place some stakes around the planting site for support. If planted in autumn, apply mulch to protect them from frost. During the growing season keep soil moist at all times, especially young plants. This perennial is short lived and needs replacing every few years. Once established add fertilizer once a month until after they have bloomed. Remove flower heads as they fade and cut back flower spikes after bloom. PLEASE NOTE: Harmful if eaten especially the roots. Wear gloves handling Delphinium Summer Skies and do not plant near vegetables. If supplied as bare roots please soak them for 12-18 hours (do not exceed 24 hours). This allows them to take up the maximum amount of water without doing any injury to the plant.
