How to take care of Apple Gala

Soak the roots for approx. 2 hrs before planting and water well after planting and for the next few weeks. This is a hardy deciduous Apple Gala shrub it’s leaves do not appear until late spring. Flowers appear in late summer and early autumn.

Apple Gala needs a sunny sheltered position to thrive in. In colder areas, plant Apple Gala near a south-facing wall. Protect Apple Gala from cold winds. Use a well-drained soil enriched with organic matter.

Remove faded flower heads as they fade to prolong flowering. If Apple Gala is planted in pots, plant in spring. There will be little growth in the first year. Apple Gala do well in various soil types. Apple Gala likes to be constantly moist, but not wet.

Feed twice a month during the growing season and prune as necessary to control plant size. Container-grown Apple Gala plants should be brought indoors in extreme winter conditions. Check Apple Gala plants periodically for pests such as aphids, white flies, and mealy bugs.

Use a horticultural oil or insecticidal soap to control these pests.
