Acer palmatum dissectum is a slow growing upright variety with fine lacy leaves that are bright pink in spring turning to green in summer before dropping in autumn. A very hardy tree that tolerates very harsh cold winters.

How to take care of Acer Palmatum Dissectum
Water well upon receipt of the Acer Palmatum Dissectum. Require a neutral to acidic soil. Plant Acer Palmatum Dissectumin light shady sheltered location as it needs protection from cold winds and hot morning sun, which damage the leaves. Best position is somewhere you can see the sun shining through the leaves. Prepare planting site with 50% potting compost and 50% top soil, plant Acer Palmatum Dissectumso that the root ball is just below the surface and water well for the next few weeks. Apply a top dressing of organic fertiliser during early spring but not at the time of planting wait for about 6 weeks before applying fertiliser for the first time. Give the young trees support by means of a cane. Never let the roots dry out. Pruning is not necessary but you can cut out dead wood in spring.
Mulch is recommended to increase the moisture around the plant and to avoid the plant drying out. Sheltered shadier areas are recommended.
