How to take care of Passiflora Collection
For best results soak the roots for approx 2 hrs before planting and water well after planting and for the next few weeks. Plant the passiflora in a large pot, or directly in the ground, in a sunny position and approx 30cm (12") away from the fence or trellis, preferably against a south-facing wall. The long tendrils need lots of support for climbing. Plant in loam enriched compost and give organic topdressing in the spring. Support the plant well as it can grow to a height of 2.5m. This plant gives beautiful exotic flowers from June until the end of summer. Fertilize once fortnightly with phostrogen and water frequently in the summer and sparingly in autumn and winter. Top growth will be killed off by frost but protect roots by covering with sacking or straw in the winter. Regularly pinch the tips during the growing season to restrict the size. Parts of plant are poisonous if ingested
