How to take care of Communis Red William’s

Soak the roots for approx. 2 hrs before planting and water well after planting and for the next few weeks. This is a hardy deciduous Communis Red William’s shrub it’s leaves do not appear until late spring.

Communis Red William’s needs a sunny sheltered position to thrive in. In colder areas, plant Communis Red William’s near a south-facing wall. Protect Communis Red William’s from cold winds. Use a well-drained soil enriched with organic matter.

Remove faded flower heads as they fade to prolong flowering. There will be little growth in the first year. Communis Red William’s do well in various soil types. Communis Red William’s likes to be constantly moist, but not wet.

Feed twice a month during the growing season and prune as necessary to control plant size. Container-grown Communis Red William’s plants should be brought indoors in extreme winter conditions. Check Communis Red William’s plants periodically for pests such as aphids, white flies, and mealy bugs.

Use a horticultural oil or insecticidal soap to control these pests.
