How to take care of Karl Rosenfield
Prepare the soil a few days before planting, work in lots of compost especially if you have heavy clay soil. Peonies prefer well-drained neutral to slightly acidic soil and full sun. Transplant the pot to its final place.
Water well and mark the planting location with a cane. Apply a top dressing of organic fertilizer in early spring from next year onwards; flowering can take up to two seasons, as they need to be firmly established.
Remove old flowers regularly, let the foliage die back naturally and cut down back to ground level. Destroy the foliage to reduce the possibility of Botrytis disease. Leave them undisturbed as they do not like to be moved; they will reward you with loads of flowers each summer.
