Pennisetum alopecuroides Hameln
Chinese Fountain Grass is one of the most popular late flowering ornamental grasses. Hameln is a clump-forming perennial grass producing beautiful bottlebrush spikes colour from buff to soft pinks and light-colored maroons that protrude above the leaves.
In autumn the leaves turning bright golden-yellow in the autumn and plants remain attractive well into the winter.
Most effective when mass planted, but also suitable as a single specimen or just incontainers. Flowers are excellent for cutting, fresh or dried.

How to take care of Alopecuroides Hameln
Suitable for any well drained soil, plant in a sunny or partially shaded position. Enrich the planting site with organic matter prior to planting. Plant in a hole deep enough so that the root ball will be a little deeper than the plant was growing in it's container.
Water well after planting and for a few weeks until the plant is established. Mulch grasses with organic material in the autumn to protect roots and shoots from freezing. Old foliage should be cut to the ground in March.
Clumps may be easily divided in spring. Drought tolerant once established.
