How to take care of Standard Cephalanthus
Position Cephalanthus in fun sun or partial shade. This shrub needs fertile, moist soil if you transplant Cephalanthus into a larger container make sure that you use ericaceous compost. It flowers mid to late summer.
Prune next growing season periodically to encourage new growth. The leaves of this plant are toxic. If you are growing this plant in a pot make sure that the pot is well protected from harsh winter frosts, you can do this by either burying the entire pot in the soil and mulching around the top with a few inches of bark or leaves, or by wrapping the pot in a sack filled with straw and placing it in a sheltered spot or you could move the pot indoors to an unheated room, it does not need much water in winter however do not allow it to dry out completely.
