How to take care of Chamaecyparis White Spot

Plant in well drained slightly acidic or neutral soil, which has been improved with some compost, you can improve soil drainage by mixing in some sand or grit to the planting holes. At the start of winter water the Conifers well so that they go into the winter with a moisture boost.

During Feb and March you should add some Magnesium Sulphate to the top of the soil to help improve the colour of the foliage. If you are growing this conifer in a pot make sure that the pot is well protected from harsh winter frosts, you can do this by either burying the entire pot in the soil and mulching around the top with a few inches of bark or leaves, or by wrapping the pot in a sack filled with straw and placing it in a sheltered spot or you could move the pot indoors to an unheated room, it does not need much water in winter however do not allow it to dry out completely
