How to take care of Strawberry Guava

Strawberry Guava is suitable for growing in containers and with will adapt to any soil type. Strawberry Guava requires a bright sunny position in your conservatory or greenhouse, in summer it can be placed outside.

Once mature Strawberry guavas are hardy to – 5 but should be protected from hard freezes so best brought indoor over winter.

Lots of water is needed during fruit development and for proper ripening to occur.

Fruits will ripen usually two times a year in the greenhouse. During the growing season use a (slow release fertiliser).

Prune to keep in shape. Shaping Strawberry Guava and removing water shoots and suckers are usually all that is necessary since the fruit is borne on new growth, pruning does not interfere with next year’s crop.
