How to take care of Begonia grandiflora Yellow x 3
Tuberous begonia's do not grow well in dry arid conditions without special care and attention. They are perfect for window boxes and hanging baskets. They do not like direct sunlight and morning sun so place them in a partially shaded location away from strong winds. Plant the tubers hollow side up and 1 inch deep. Water thoroughly to stimulate growth. Never let the soil dry out, keep them moist but avoid over watering. Begonia foliage needs to be kept as dry as possible as over head watering can lead to mildew. Feed every two or three weeks. Remove any faded flower heads regularly to promote new growth and to prevent disease. They can take up 3 months to produce a flower. Begonias will not tolerate frost.
Start feeding with a liquid tomato fertiliser or any high in potash six weeks after planting.
