Abutilon
Abutilon plants are exotic half-hardy shrubs also known as 'Chinese bell flowers' or flowering maples because their foliage is maple-like
During summer Abutilon plants are usually smothered in large nodding, paper-thin bell-shaped flowers. Abutilon colours include golden, orange, red, pink, purple and white.
Abutilon needs to be planted in fertile well-drained soil a sunny, sheltered spot against a warm south or west facing wall would be ideal, some Abutilons are great for hanging baskets other Abutilon plants are ideal for large patio planters in a conservatory. Container grown Abutilons can be moved indoors for winter however plants grown in containers usually don't grow as large as Abutilons planted in the ground.
