How to take care of Montbretia x 20
For best results plant Montbretia according to the instruction on the package in drifts in a sunny, sheltered site with moderately fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil. You can improve heavy soil by mixing in some coarse builders sand. After flowering allow foliage to die back naturally as this will send nutrients to Montbretia for next year’s bloom, cut to the ground once the foliage has turned completely yellow. In very cold areas, Montbretia need a sheltered site and the bulbs should be lifted and stored over winter. Lift and divide congested colonies in spring.
