How to take care of Carpinus betulus hedge x 10
This extremely adaptable hedge plant is resistant to shade and smoky air so it can literally be planted anywhere! Any garden soil will do and it thrives in sun or shade. It bears white flowers in June or July, and beech nuts in autumn. The lush summer dark green foliage may be trimmed hard mid to late summer if necessary. You can trim hedges to shape in June and again in September. For best results trim hedges in a concical shape. Do not apply fertilizer until your trees have been in the ground for at least 6 -8 weeks. It could burn the new roots.
Clip once a year in late summer (this is important to help the plant retain its winter colour).
