How to take care of Sidalcea malviflora Checker Plant x 3
Plant Sidalcea in well-drained slightly acid to neutral soil in a sunny sheltered location. Improve the soil with organic fertiliser such as manure and repeat this every spring. Space 12 "(30cm) apart and plant at a depth of 3- 4" (8-10cm) Prune back hard after blooming, and plants may flower a second time in the autumn. Should be divided every 2 to 3 years in early spring. Not terribly tolerant of hot humid summers. Tall plants may need staking to prevent the wind from breaking them.
