How to take care of White shade garden
General soak the shrub rootballs for approx 2 hrs before planting and water well after planting and for the next few weeks.Helleborus plant them in a deep rich organic soil that retains some moisture. Remove faded foliage after flowering and cover with well rotted compost as mulch to protect. Helleborus takes 12-18 months to become established and they do not like to be disturbed. Flowering period Feb - April depending on the variety. Hosta roots should be soaked 12-18 hours prior to planting. Plant in a sheltered spot. Feed with a balanced plant food in spring and in summer. Mulch regularly in autumn and keep them well watered. Protect from slugs and snails, they can do considerable damage to new leaves. Euonymus choose a position that is not exposed to prolonged cold winds. Prune hard to encourage new growth at any time except spring. Pinch out the tips of shoots to encourage bushy growth. Viburnum flowers from age 1-3 years onwards in mid spring with beautiful white flowers. Pruning: is not really necessary, you may take out old and damaged branches in spring to ground level.
