Clematis Dr Ruppel has star-shaped blooms are a pretty shade of pink striped with carmine red and it has beige anthers. This stunning Clematis is compact growing so it is one of the best varieties for growing in containers.
Clematis Dr Ruppel flowers spring to early summer and again at the end of summer, attractive seed heads add interest well into autumn follow its flowers.
This variety belongs to early large flowering prune group 2 that needs to be pruned in late winter or early spring and after its first flush of flowers in summer, this will encourage it to flower again later in summer.

How to take care of Clematis Dr Ruppel
Soak your plants as soon as they arrive. Plant this Clematis so that the crown is level with the surface of the soil, in well-drained soil. Add a generous amount of grit to the bottom of the hole when planting and make sure that the roots are always shaded. Grow against a strong trellis or support. This variety belongs to group 2, it needs to be pruned in late winter or early spring before the first signs of growth and again after the first flush of flowers in summer, this will encourage it to flower again later in summer.
