Clematis Voluceau belongs to the late large flowering group, its flowers are a stunning reddish-purple colour and velvety to touch with yellow stamens.
This variety belongs to the Late Large-flowered group, Prune Group 3, it blooms in late summer/autumn so you can prune it hard in early spring. All shoots can be pruned right back to the previous year's wood just above the plants base.

How to take care of Clematis Voluceau
Soak your plants as soon as they arrive. Plant this Clematis so that the crown is level with the surface of the soil, in well-drained soil. Add a generous amount of grit to the bottom of the hole when planting and make sure that the roots are always shaded. Grow against a strong trellis or support. This variety belongs to pruning group 3 this means it should be pruned hard in late winter or early spring. All shoots can be pruned right back to the previous years wood just above the plants base.
