Also known as Pussy Willow, this dwarf-weeping tree is ideal for growing in small gardens or pots on your patio. In spring its bare branches will be smothered in highly decorative fluffy, golden, male catkins, which look great in flower arrangements. Fertilise early in the season with a fertiliser high in nitrogen to promote green leafy growth. Photos are for illustration purposes only.

How to take care of Standard Salix Kilmarnock
Plant it in moist well-drained soil with some well-rotted manure or garden compost. Prune away any broken, diseased or crossing branches in late autumn or winter to stimulate growth. It will produce attractive golden catkins April - May. If you are growing this plant in a pot make sure that the pot is well protected from harsh winter frosts, you can do this by either burying the entire pot in the soil and mulching around the top with a few inches of bark or leaves, or by wrapping the pot in a sack filled with straw and placing it in a sheltered spot or you could move the pot indoors to an unheated room, it does not need much water in winter however do not allow it to dry out completely.
