How to take care of Taxus Baccata Fastigiata Aurea
In general : Conifers dislike wet feet, therefore plant them in well drained soil which has been improved with some compost, you can improve soil drainage by mixing in some sand or grit to the planting holes. At the start of winter water the Conifers well so that they go into the winter with a moisture boost. (As Conifers are evergreen trees, they keep on dehydrating all winter long. Avoid shading the base of the plant to prevent the lower part also turning brown - it does not stand shade. Do not apply fertilizer until your trees have been in the ground for at least 6 -8 weeks. It could burn the new roots. During Feb & March add some Natural Kieserite (Magnesium Sulphate) on top of the soil to improve the foliage colour, if you cannot obtain it, organic fertilser will suffice.
Pests: may be attached by tortrix moth, vine weevil, gall mites and scale insects. Diseases: Yew has a reputation for begin indestructible, but it may be susceptible to root rot such as phytophthora root diseases.
