How to take care of Olivia Europeana Olive Tree
This tree will grow in a sheltered spot on your terrace or in your home in a full sun position. Water regularly during their growing period (spring). They are very easy to grow but be careful, as a bacterial disease known as (Olive Knot) can spread from tools used during the rainy months, so always clean your tools before using them. Another fungal disease prone to olive trees is (Verticillum Wilt), caused by water logging the soil and spreading up through the roots, therefore have plenty of water-draining grit at the bottom of your container, eg: the hole in the bottom should be covered with pieces of broken pots for extra drainage. Plants without fruit should be kept in a light but cool place (10°-20°C) to promote budding. Once fruit is formed it will colour within four months. Mature trees can stay outdoors, given some winter protection (avoid drying out and water-logging). Prune mature trees from December to February. During spring and summer fertilize regularly with an organic fertilizer.
