How to take care of Salvia St Johns Fire
This is a hardy herbaceous clump forming perennial, grown for their decorative and aromatic foliage and beautiful upright spikes of flowers. Plant them in any free well draining soil and place in an open sunny position. For best results dig some organic compost or well rotted manure into the soil before planting. They flower from mid to late summer. Stake the taller ones for support and cut back stems as first flowers fade to encourage second crop. It's susceptible to and should be protected from slugs and snails.
