How to take care of Curly Kale - Westland autumn
Sow from early spring until early summer in seedbed in open ground. Plant out after 5 -6 weeks. This variety of curly kale has a better taste after a period of ground frost. Harvest perferably just after the first frost but before winter falls. Cabbages do best in a sunny location with reasonably firm soil. They do not do well in very acid soil, if your soil is acid then apply lime during soil preparation. For best results dig in plenty of well rotted manure or compost the autumn before planting time (this must be done months before planting).
